BMW Upper Beam Manufacturing Station
A robot-centered manufacturing station for BMW upper beam bending, etching and stamping
The station is robot-centered with integration of stamping, bending and etching units. The ABB robot picks parts from infeed conveyor and carries the part to complete all the procedures.
I used ABB robot studio to simulate the paths of the robot and programmed the robot accordingly. I also wrote up the PLC program (Allen-Bradley) for the Robot part, and configured the ethernet communication between PLC and Robot.
